Music gearhead questions
Apr. 22nd, 2009 09:54 amI'm looking for a small, bus or battery powered midi foot controller that I could assign a couple buttons to MIDI CC messages. Would one of the little cheap guys that guitarists use for FX patch switching work for this? (Like this one? I don't know if they can be programmed for CC messages or if they just do program changes.
This guy is the exact kind of form factor I'm looking for, but I don't think it can be battery/bus powered and this one is a little more than I'd need, I think, so it's also awfully spendy.
Other things I'm considering:
Smaller, bus-powered audio/midi interface, probably an M-Audio 410 and a little battery powered keyboard amp.
Also, This is so sexy. I wish it wasn't sooo expensive for 9 knobs.
(I've been thinking a lot about how I might pare down my rig considerably and still make the kind of music I want to make, as well as have the ability to have a totally portable mini-rig...)
