My Responsible Weekend

Friday, I was a good girl and went to the doctor. Saturday was breakfast and responsible music making followed up by Celia's birthday shindig, wherein I was the responsible sober driver for an exciting DUI adventure as well as for the way home. Sunday was taxes and paying the motorcycle insurance before it lapsed, and off to derby practice. I really should keep the ball rolling and get the oil changed in the cars this afternoon...
I'm also getting a bunch of stuff done at work today (funny how my boss's signature on a few things suddenly triples the amount of stuff I can get done/have to do.)
Because I spent my first full calendar year at a job that pays a living wage last year, I'm getting a refund of significantly more than $20 this year. I am super excited about that, and plan on squandering it on at least two only vaguely responsible items: a new pair of speedy skates and a motorcycle helmet that fits. Yes, I am Wild and Crazy. I may yet even buy a few pairs of socks without holes in them- stay tuned. My ulterior motive with the new skates is having a decent pair that I can keep outdoor wheels on for the summer. I know myself well enough that the whole swapping indoor/outdoor wheels business would keep me from skating outside as much as I'd like to once it's nice out.

Date: 2006-04-03 07:23 pm (UTC)But, now that you mention it.. I, too, am thinking about squandering some of my tax refund on some pretty new skates... but I'd likely sell off the ones I have now as they're a little too big for me and just get a second set of outdoor wheels.

Date: 2006-04-05 12:32 am (UTC)i did find a crappy pair of quads at sports authority which i bought-- they have crappy plastic trucks and polyurethane speed wheels, but they are low ankle and will be good to practice on-- "COBRA" is the brand name,if you can call it that...
Where can one get really crappy outdoor wheels and outdoor bearings FAST? like locally? i need to get something to swap out my indoor wheels out so that i can build my endurance on some outdoor trails and keep my crappy poly wheels and bearings for practicing at roller garden..... This nice weather is making me impatient......ooooooooh
