Getting better all the time

Qwest was kinda stupid about the billing for our DSL when we moved. Mostly because of that and partially because of laziness on my part, we had no internets at home for the last 2 days. While Qwest are still kinda a bunch of lame-o's with confusing billing (if it says $0.00 due and I won't be disconnected for lack of payment until the 21st, why am I getting turned off at all, and forgiving that- why on the 18th, dudes?)- but it was kinda nice. I had two whole days without that trumpet noise from WoW, and we mostly sat on either side of the couch and read books and made dinner at home. It was really exactly what I've needed to feel more okay with the world.
Last night, S4 came home with all the fixin's for veggie Chicago dogs, which include a somewhat ridiculous amount of condiments. He says they're all about the exhibit of the entire life cycle of a cucumber- raw cucumber, pickle spear, *and* relish. Chicago dogs are a curious thing, because while I can kinda take or leave most of their ingredients individually, all together they are strangely alchemical. We forgot celery salt, for which I can only hope Val Capone would forgive us. And for the fact that I don't eat vienna beef. Anyway, they were quite delicious.
I made a lot more progress on getting the place organized, getting rid of stuff we don't want that takes up space. I put my old desk out in the hallway with a sign on it, and like magic it was gone. I brought the two pieces of gear I need to send out of state to work to forage appropriate boxen and got them all packed up. (hey, Jj and Blake, can you guys gimme your address info again?)
I put the winter coats and scarves and the subwoofer in the loft. I made a pile of shoes. I created a bin just for crap for the car. We still need shelving for the bathroom and a table for projects, to hang art and the disco ball (heh), and get frames... But it's looking better every day.
Anyone know anyone who wants a motorcycle windshield?
We're going to a B&B to celebrate our anniversary. I'm excited. The place we found even agreed to make me fancy vegetarian stuff to eat. Yay.

Date: 2006-07-20 04:25 pm (UTC)that is perhaps one of the most important ingredientes on a chicago dog.
