I didn't know I could muster such loathing for the company through which we lease our copy machine.

...okay. I'm actually annoyed enough that I'm thinking of writing a letter of complaint and see if they'll let us out of our contract. It might be worth a shot. Anyone have any suggestions for copier leasing places that don't suck? Bonus points if they're local and deal with small organizations? (Yeah, right...)

It would probably have a ridiculous early termination fee, but shit if I don't want to get out of our contract. I wonder if I can find another company that would want to buy it out. Every single department has been craptastic, excepting their service guys, but their billing dept takes the cake.

"M'am, I don't have any record of anyone talking to you about this matter already."
"That's funny, because this fax I have from two months ago about this matter exactly has *your* name on it..."

I'm very skeptical that you could find a company that would offer you better service. I've never met a copy-machine leasing and service company that I trusted further than I could throw them.

i think we were rather lucky at my old workplace to have used a place where the sales guy was also the service guy -- if billing screwed anything up (rare, but occasional), he was quick to fix it.

i think copy machines are silly. you'd probably save money by getting some kind of scanner/printer combo with copy features. but i suppose you might do high volume copies and then you probably want a copier.
