Yesterday was a lovely day. It was a good day for a motorcycle ride. I thought "Now that it is warm and dry, I will try again to start my motorcycle." I got my coat and my helmet and my gloves and my keys and strided purposefully into the parking lot, hopeful that I would be successful where I was unsuccessful this weekend. I tried the ignition- and got absolutely nothing. I was puzzled about this until I realized that I'd left the bike in "park" when we'd left it last, and didn't notice the tailight was on because it was that cloudy daylight that always causes me to not notice when parking lights are on. Damn. So- then I waged battle with the rusty screws that hold my battery in. Because the lot in which I park is a block and a half away from my home, this took a lot of walking back and forth. I retrieved two different screwdrivers, a scissors (for some reason the previous owner had secured the battery with a zip tie), and finally a can of WD-40. In the end, I reliquished the task to S4's superior manliness. I hate that, but sometimes I have to do that with stubborn spaghetti sauce jars, too. Maybe one day I'll be tough enough.

So now the battery has sat on the charger, and I will give it another try after work today.

To be continued.

Wait -- maybe I asked this before, but can't you kickstart it? If you can, and you ride around for a while, that charges up the battery. At least, that's what I've done on both my scooters that had batteries.
