Woke up early-ish for a saturday. Have been in kind of a mad cleaning frenzy since then because the state of my house was making me crazy. I didn't really realize how crazy until I started looking around and saw so much stuff hanging around that needs to be dealt with that it took me several minutes just to figure out somewhere to start. It's a little weird, living in one big open room, 'cause then it can kind of all hit you at once, and it's easier to get distracted. I still don't feel totally moved in yet and then there's mess from Burning Man and related projects. We don't have enough storage for our clothes, so there's not really anything to be done about making the bedroom area look better until we can afford another wardrobe or two (unless we each throw 75% of our wardrobe away, I guess), plus we also don't really have anywhere to store linens or towels, really, so those don't really have anywhere to go either. Shoes, too. Funny thing about not having any closets... So, things end up never leaving a laundry basket or get haphazardly thrown into bins if they're lucky, and left on the floor if they're not. I'd wanted to have another wardrobe by now, but... with the car dying right on top of Burning Man, it's just not something we can do right now. All our fabric for projects and stuff is a huge mess- we dumped out the bins we were storing it all in to use them for our clothes for the desert. My studio and my kitchen have been good, but everything else is kind of "Waaaaahhhhhh!!". Plus after monstering last night our living room kind of looked like a muppet blew up. It's a little better now. (But at least the results are quite fantastic, if I do say so myself.) I put the other sleeping bag in the wash, and stacked up a bunch of S4's crap valuable posessions in his studio space to deal with, I scrubbed the bathroom, took out some trash and recycling, hung up the coathooks, and put the big crazy bag of drug store my Mom gave us into a bin in the bathroom.

I felt like we actually did a resonable job getting rid of stuff before we moved, but it wasn't quite enough.

I want to get rid of the ugly oak chairs that my Mom gave us. I want to get rid of at least one of these two buckets of plaster. (actually, Hey, Frost, if you've actually read all this crap and you want a bucket of plaster, I have one. You should have it. Otherwise I'll put it in the hallway and I'm sure it would thrill one of my neighbors...) I really love my oak claw-foot table, but it really doesn't fit here. I want to get rid of this supernintendo (+accessories+games) that I've never played. It's one of those things I never even wanted... when I lived with my brother, he took it from my boyfriend at the time who was getting rid of it. Then somehow it's followed me around to three or four consecutive living spaces. I want to organize my fabric, and probably get rid of half of it. I have two bags of clothes for goodwill sitting in my entryway. I have a bag full of cassette tapes that I'm not sure what to do with. I have an unloved teddy bear and doll, an old camera, gifted jewelry I don't wear (I haven't had pierced ears in over 10 years!), an Eeyore change bank, a little single cd player/stereo that I don't use.

Blah. Stuff.

If anyone has read this far and anything in that last section sounds inviting to you, lemme know.

I think there is some mischeif to be made, soon, after all of this...

I'd rather wait until we can actually afford the ones we want. Otherwise it's just going to be more stuff I'll want to get rid of in a little while.

I have a portable wardrobe you could borrow until such time as you can purchase a real one, if'n you want.

the thought of an unloved teddy bear just makes me cry.

also, the above-forementioned mess you described? yeah, we're totally living that, too. we also dumped our storage bins. it's depressing trying to walk hopping over tons of shit as you move from one end of the apartment to the other end. but good exercise, i suppose. ;)

maybe I could help you with some of those ugly oak chairs.

(I like furniture WAY too much.)
