(no subject)

Derby practice kicked my ass.

I seem to recall a brief conversation about who was in the best shape of our group of friends last night at the monster party.
Right now, it is surely not I.

But if tonight is par for drill practices these days, I wager we will have to revisit that conversation in little while, once I wean myself from ibuprofen.

Now it is time for beer.

mmmm, beer.

Mm, beer indeed.

It is also surely not I. Although I think I may know more about red blood cell production and peristalsis than most people we know.

It's true. I didn't even know what peristalsis was! I had to look it up. Wikipedia is neat.

remember that pain is just weakness leaving the body.

and ibuprofen is wonderful.

soon i'll have my stock of ibuprofen replenished...

I thought you looked great out there last night!

Thanks! This was the first drill practice for me since before the break, so last night was a big "Oh, yeah..." During a water break, I asked Pain what time it was. She looked at me and said "Dude, it's barely after 7."
Oh noes.
But my hockey stop is getting better!

I'll have to have you teach me them - my hockey stops suck (although that may be because of my wheels.)

You should be super glad you missed the very first day that the old skaters came back - Denny managed to stuff a four hour tryout into a two hour practice. Ouch!

What kind do you have? I have crossfires, I'm told hockey stops are weirder in them because they're so sticky and it helps to have a little more skid. Crossfires are discontinued, though, and have a weird thing where the hubs come loose I guess, so I kind of want to get a new set of wheels and get used to them before bouting starts to be on the safe side.

I have a set of completely brand new, 65mm Crossfires if you'd like to buy them off of me. :)
