Practice was fun. It was refreshing to skate without my feet somewhere between moderate and craptastic amounts of blister-related pain. I also now feel qualified to give reviews of several blister-related products. If anyone cares, I place 2nd Skin pads at the top of the list. I mentioned to a teammate how nice it was to skate without pain, and she looked at me weird, 'cause my captain's name is Pain Gretzky, and she was there, and we like skating with her quite a bit. Phyllis Drillher was back for the first time post-baby, which is also very exciting. Plus last year's cap'n Trixie showed up to watch us skate, and Rizzo came even with her broken ankle. Scarmen skated a bit with us too, which was nice, but she didn't skate too much 'cause her knee is still a little dodgy. Yay for derby girls.

I've been thinking about going to one of these circus classes I keep hearing about while I'm on my skatey break. We shall see.

I'm looking forward to the bout this weekend 'cause I missed the last two.

Bedtime!

It was definitely a fun practice, and I finally feel sore for pretty much the first time all year (aside from the soreness of "puke practices")

I definitely think we work well together - when we're in sync, we play awesome. Perhaps we could rig up some Pointy Shoulder Brigade patches/stickers for ourselves? *grins*

Indeed! I'm still annoyed I got pushed out so much shadowing you; I need to get better at hitting back or ducking out of those kinds of blocks, and getting back up front faster if I do get caught. I'm used to playing behind the pivot on the inside, so it's a different mindset playing more in front on the outside. I think I did better the second go-round. But we rocked it playing inside/back blocker!
