S4 and I headed out to Sioux Falls to see their new derby league's first bout. It was impressive, especially as first bouts go. The teams are already using some good strategy, the packs are going a decent speed, and there's a good amount of hitting already. I predict they'll be a competitive league sooner rather than later. It was all Rockits who went, plus 433, other new announcer Jet, Spike, and then Mr. Jawbreaker and Mr. Hertz. A couple teammates took to calling us "The Hertz's", and we think that if this keeps up we'll have to get one of those cheesy woodburned signs with that on it. You know, for "the cabin" or whatever. There was a lot of silliness and a lot of cheap beer. I've also come home with a renewed appreciation for the Twin Cities' smoking ban. Wow, I haven't reeked of bar like that for a long time. Ew.

I was also not expecting the Days Inn Sioux Falls to have one of the best continental breakfast spreads I've ever seen- two kinds of juice, coffee, toast, english muffins, a variety of doughnuts, cereal- but the best was the cups of waffle batter and waffle irons. Build-Your-Own Waffle! Awesome! The waffle irons were these cool cast iron flippy things with automatic timers.

Today I woke up with my tummy not feeling great. I sometimes take time on Monday mornings to work on music projects, but today I took it half for that and half because I just wasn't feeling well. I haven't been eating or sleeping very well lately, it seems, and a bunch of smoke and cheap beer and shitty road trip snacks I'm sure did not help. So, I'm trying to be nice to my belly today and made myself some miso soup with spinach and tea and toast for lunch.

Where did they have the bout at? Does this mean that Sioux Falls is shirking the "business end" of the state moniker or reinforcing it?

It was at the fairgrounds. It smelled like barn, which kind of worked for it, I dunno.
S4 says shirking, but I think they were definitely takin' care of bidness.
