They are nearly done with the tuckpointing on our wall. The scaffolding has been taken down. Our parking lot is littered with buckets full of broken bricks and a small dumpster of other debris, and it seems they *might* be done by the end of the day today. Once they started, of course, it was determined that the damage was more extensive and therefore the repair more expensive. Ah, joys of pseudo-home ownership. This is the last wall to have this done, so barring some very unforseen circumstance, our building will remain structurally sound well into the next century. Hooray! Our elevator, however, that managed to get two people stuck in it, and then promptly break again immediately after a repair, is not inspiring the same confidence. I am pretty okay with the five warehouse-stories worth of stairs for now (sprinting them is good for derby!), but my position will quickly change if I need to navigate them with all my music gear or the rest of a CONvergence load-out. We were fortunate to get our last massive load of groceries very shortly before the trouble began. We also have a neighbor in a wheelchair, and it's just not okay to have a dodgy elevator when you have a neighbor in a wheelchair.


I think my wrist is going to be fine. I skipped practice last night in favor of more icing and ibuprofen. I'm on day three, and pain that was enough to nearly bring me to tears and lose sleep on Tuesday night has subsided to a dull annoyance except during use or stretching. It's the same sort of injury that my finger had last year, just on a larger and more complicated joint. The kind of pain I have is nearly identical, so I've been treating it the same way my therapist told me to treat my finger last year and it seems to be helping. I'm fairly certain I'll be back to derby on Tuesday and that I'll still be playing in Albuquerque on Saturday. Hooray again!
