The output circut totally fried on the Ion. Again. It did this... about exactly this time last year, too, only this time instead of it getting gradually more and more quiet, it kind of popped in and out a lot for the last few weeks (I thought it was cables) and then stopped making any sound at all today. Grrr.

So... while I may yet bow out and let someone else take my slot at the Space Lounge, right now I'm thinking I'll substitue the prophet. You know, the keyboard I don't gig with anymore because it's not as reliable.

Ha ha ha.

For all of its quirks- going in and out of tune, stuttering from worn contacts, some significant amplitude variance patch to patch- damn, I forget how much I like *real* analog filters. Maybe it's a conspiracy between the keyboards 'cause the prophet misses gigging.

...Yes, I anthropomorphize my keyboards. Shudup.

I can't begin to tell you how crabby I am at my dad for selling his Farfisa. And that was 15 or 20 years ago now. He determined that he should part with it because all the F's were sharp. Talk about quirks -- I miss that thing so much that I miss the F that was not an F. ffs. ;)

How the hell could one not? The one keyboard I "have" is an unbelievably shitty piano, a Kimball console; and that thing's alive to me. (I am not even any good really.) Technically it belongs to me, but it has lived with my mother all this time. When I move back there after 'Con, I can start writing again. Yay!
