So, I wanna get, or possibly make a midi foot controller.

Anyone have any reviews or advice?

I'm thinking something like this, but I'd prefer something with a smaller footprint, and I don't really need "expression" pedals. (what does that even mean? Is it a guitar thing?)

Expression pedals are to supplement or replace the mod wheel on a keyboard. They're actually kind of handy (or perhaps footy) for when you're playing two-handed, but still want to be able to manipulate parameters.
