The anti-red tape!

It just occurred to me, upon helping someone out with a weird bureaucratic grant issue, is that one of the many reasons I like my job is that we do a lot to help people either navigate or avoid annoying bits of red tape.

Strangely enough, that's how I felt working in the giant state-school bureaucracy as a petty paper-shuffler. "We're all in this together, kid."
