truly truly truly outrageous.

I just got my birthday present from my super-awesome brother and his super awesome-girlfriend. Actually, maybe I should say they are more like truly, truly, truly outrageous:

Dude, [livejournal.com profile] r0ckc4ndy, I am totally ready to rock!

It's not my birthday for two more days, but who can get a present delivered right to their door and not open it? Not me!

Because I promised, here's another myspace-worthy self-shot of my new haircut:

And, for [livejournal.com profile] harfang and anyone else who might be interested in basically what my studio looks like:

except I'm not using the big black rack case there.

dude, I had no idea roller derby posters could be so spiffy-lookin'. I guess I should've guessed. Your solo show poster is gorgeous.

Although I should prolly have guessed this as well, I didn't know Yamaha made monitors. On planet me, even though I never play my saxophone anymore, I tend to think of Yamaha as "those guys that make the tinny horns." (The positive version of that view is that they have a very "bright" sound.) So it's good to be reminded that they're important...

ETA: Yeah, ever since my haircut I've been almost as cold as the average person, and I'm usually very hot-blooded. It feels way different.

The posters are pretty cool. I kind of wish I'd been collecting more of them, as they're handmade in limited runs so it's hard to get them after the fact.
Yeah, besides 6th-grader band instruments (which I still play, kinda sadly), they wrote the book (http://www.amazon.com/Sound-Reinforcement-Handbook-Gary-Davis/dp/0881889008) on sound reinforcement, and they made a decent motorcycle.
