Rockits won the Golden Skate, for an undefeated season. AWESOME!! The Dolls made us work for it, though, and it could have been anyone's game up to the last couple jams. Harder game than I'd anticipated, after our 50+ point victory last time. It was good, smart, hard-hittin' derby, with no fights, cheap shots or bullshit. It was good- derby the way it should be, as far as I'm concerned. I don't know if it was the best game I've ever played, but I pulled my weight; only one time that I remember getting too caught up in offense and let down my defense and let a jammer just cruise by.

It was nice to see the Garda bring home a victory- they worked hard all season and I feel they really deserved it. I've had maybe one celebratory drink too many, and am excited that super secret project has been postponed so I can sleep it off tomorrow instead of getting up early, as much as putting another thing to bed would feel nice.

I took the fella to see the Rollergirls for the first time last bout, and we were back last night. After seeing last Bout for comparison, I think he was surprised by the lack of mayhem this time around. That said, I don't remember seeing any bout as straight-up brisk and intense as the Rockits/Dolls last night. Good show!
