So I'm trying really hard to get work done from home, because my office is all in storage for the remodel, and it's just not working.

I can't get the internet connection to work with my old work PC. Ok, not such a big deal, I have my brand new shiny mac that I need to dump everything over to anyway, so I'll use that. Set up Mail, awesome. Ok! Except that my smpt server doesn't work. Even though I get all the green lights and everything, nope, no mail is leaving here, via work server or waste server or anything else. Sigh. Ok, well, I'll just move along and try to import my old mailbox from Thunderbird. For whatever reason, even though I got rid of a ton of old mail, my Thunderbird profile is almost six gigs, and the thumb drive I was gonna use to transfer stuff is only 2... Okay, whatever, I'll use an external USB drive. Ooooh, all I have are Mac formatted external hard drives that the PC won't read. Ok. Not a problem, I'll get rid of stuff on one and reformat it. Oh. Reformat unsuccessful. Great. Ok, well, I'll try reformatting it again on this apple here instead. Hmm, that didn't work either. Ok. well, all I really want is stuff from the inbox, which is under 2 gigs, so maybe I can just move that over using the thumb drive? Guess not, apparently even though Thunderbird says that those are plain mbox files, AppleMail is quite certain that's some kind of unix executable file instead. Jesus. H. Christ. On. A. Cracker. Will just one thing work? Please? I have too much shit to get caught up on for this.
