Maybe one day I'll even get to ride the stupid thing again.

So, when my motorcycle got impounded, I had this thought of "Hey, at least they didn't give me a ticket for not having my new tab on there!" ( It was helpfully attached to my fridge with a magnet at the time). Today I got a notice of how I haven't paid my citation for vehicle registration violation, even though I never got a copy of the ticket- I imagine it didn't stay attached to the bike. Or maybe it fell off during the tow to the impound lot. Gaaah. Gotta schedule a hearing to contest it. Never done that, should be exciting. Or not.

What do I need to prove that it was registered, and just didn't have the tab on there? Shouldn't they have a record, or should I dig up a copy of the check I used to pay it, or what?

ETA: The earliest I could get in for a hearing is January 21st. Onwards, to adventure!

Yeah, I'm afraid of that, but I'm not really sure since I never saw the original ticket. I think it just says "registration violation" on my notice. At the very least I'm hoping to knock down the late fees, 'cause I can't pay something I never got. I don't know if it makes a difference that I clearly never *drove* it anywhere or not; probably not. The weird thing is that my other ticket- the parking ticket- I got in the mail. At first I thought it was a mistake since I paid that one right away.
