Today.

Today I found out that Gary, a cool guy from whom we buy beads, was at one time an aspiring composer, has met John Cage and Phillip Glass and Lou Reed, has studied Indian music, and plays tabla drums. (I asked him if he remembered you, Karlyn...) It was cool to realize, yet discouraging to know that yes, one can get sidetracked and let their musical aspirations go and schlep beads for a lot longer than I already have. Anyway, our conversation was cool and it caused the better part of the last hour at work to pass rather nicely.

Today, I talked to [livejournal.com profile] r4c and agreed that the track for the Cumulus compilation is good to go. Yeeeah. He also informed me that our November gig has been moved to December. Gigs keep doing that to us for some reason. So, now we're on the lookout for something in the meantime.

Today, I took a book into the bath and realized a bit into Children of Dune that it is not the second book of the series, as I thought, but the third. D'oh.

Today, I found an old brochure for work-abroad programs, and rekindled my yearning to travel to Australia. This also slightly rekindled my dislike of being poor, but only a little.

Today, I resumed work on my Halloween costume, except it's not really going well, I'm not sure how to fix it, and don't know if I want to redo it. I may wanna do something else instead. I have another idea but I don't know how much I like it yet.

Today, my back still hurts. Damn.

If you want the first three Dune books, I will happily give them to you. I would rather give all three of them to you (and not just the middle one), but whatever...

Not really. He sells me some lampwork, but mostly he sells bulk glass to Michelle. He also often takes Bob to Old Chicago for beer and "cheese logs" (normal people call them "mozzerella sticks"), and thus out of the store for a few hours every time he comes to visit. We think he does this mostly for our benefit, and we love him for it. Echoegami tells me he used to have his own store on the west bank.

cheese logs? (???)
If he does this mostly for our benefit, then he must understand our lovely feelings for bob--I wonder how he can stand it? oh well.
how is stuff at the store these days--are things settled at all since bossman left? I haven't been there at all since the last time i worked with you--I'm something of an alternate these days but I need to pick up some hours somewhere--there or anywhere--because I actually dislike my other job quite a lot these days too. The management there (at the hall) is ok but after 7 months they STILL don't know my name and the job is a lot of standing in an ugly suit (at attention) for really long periods of time listening to music I don't really care for (for the most part.) So that needs to go... I think we all just need new jobs, the end.

btw what ever happened with french meadow, if you don't mind my asking?

Ah, I didn't see this one here.

If you ever backtrack- well, you probably know by now that the store's a little crazy but still better with Boss gone. And dunno whatever happened. I never got a call and didn't pursue it much. Hope I don't have to worry about it now...
