stress

Crap, is work busy. I expected this and all, but it's a little ridiculous. It's calmed down a little since the very first day of the term, but still well into 'crazy' range. On the plus side, my days go by amazingly quickly. And it is true, the U doesn't let you blow your nose without a form, and I'm now in charge of locating, handing out, xeroxing, and telling people what to do with said forms. Eh. They all have a definite function and I understand why they exist, but it gets a little trying. I recommended Brazil to a frazzled, adorably flamingly gay piano TA. I hope he watches it. Still like the job, though. The students, generally, are really nice. And I got thanked for being so nice about a crappy paperwork situation that I couldn't do much about the other day. It made me feel much better about the whole thing. Bleh. And [livejournal.com profile] karlyn_de_steno came to visit today! That'll make you feel better about most anything, too. And [livejournal.com profile] lostbutton came and delivered the last episodes of Firefly that I missed 'cause I was on the way back from Chicago! yaaaay. And [livejournal.com profile] s4 picked me up, and bought groceries to make lasagne, and bought wine and beer, so my stressful week and the grumpy mood I found myself in at the food and beer stores is evaporating right quick. I think the beer is helping.

Looking forward to my weekend, a full night's sleep, and a whole two days without permission numbers or elective lessons or audition information or grade change forms or time conflict forms or student petitions or recital petitions or supplementary grade forms or credit-by-exam forms or cancel/add/drop forms or evaluation forms or major declaration forms or major clearance forms or locker information forms or keycard checkout forms or networks being down or spreadsheets not working or anything like that.

Yup.

Happy Birthday, Ethel!

But at least you don't have to listen to ".....and you know, um... and you know, um.... and you know, um...."

sorry... I'll be laughing over that (and so many others) for years, me thinks.

>a full night's sleep...

ooh, are you slighting us for keeping you up last night? I'll have you know that s4 did a great job as the force of good keeping Mattron at bay. Your sacrifice was well made, fatty.

Oh, no. I wanted to host it at my house so I could sacrifice myself and go to sleep if I wanted. And I did. And I could have done it earlier if I wanted, or not played at all. (I heard the Hobbits won, though. Good work!) And I didn't go to ground zero last night, either. No, I just cheated myself out of my real weekend sleep because of the Chicago trip, so I started my busy week on a half-tank as it was.

Yep. That story is about as bad as the ones I've heard from my friends who went there.
