1. I ordered a mold-making and casting starter kit online today. Hope I can realize some ideas that are hanging around in my head. Yay!

2. The curator for this film festival came into my office after we'd closed to leave promotional materials. He asked a lot about faculty and who taught what classes and spent a while earmarking pages with particular films for different professors. Seemed like a quirky guy, but in a good way. I almost got annoyed that he was taking so long, as I'd let him in after we were closed, but he was interesting and earnest, so I didn't. Then he gave me two tickets to the premire movie at the State Theatre tomorrow night! And the stub is the ticket for the after party at Tonic, which I've been curious about since [livejournal.com profile] rahna is going to be spinning there. Cool! Yay free stuff!

3. I called M's mom to see if the title for the motorcycle had come back from the Netherlands. And it just arrived yesterday! So I made tenative arrangements to go pick it up on Saturday! Hope it starts... Then I just have to get the title transferred and get some insurance. I should really tell my Mom sometime, too. *sheepish* If the bus strike keeps up, it will turn out to be a very practical purchase, really...

The weather is very nice. I am enjoying the sunshine and no snow.

I am going to Cumulus tonight, and you should too.

I've heard, unofficially, that the bus strike is looking to last quite a bit longer yet. My co-worker (who talks to the people at the MN Valley Transit Authority) said "months!", but I think that's hyperbole.

And, believe or not, most people love Pawlenty. Maybe they're unaware that MN currently does not have a mass transit system.

At what point do I give up on this conservative state and move out west like everyone else?

See you tonight.

I was told that the bus strike would last, maximum, 10 weeks. After that, whether or not negotiations happen, drivers will have to go back to work (more than 2.5 months without work=really crappy). That's the rumor, anyway. But, if that's true, right now it looks like the strike is going to last every bit of those 10 weeks.

Thank god for nicer weather then, I guess.

Cumulus? What's all this, then? Google doesn't seem to have any knowledge.

I was just reading about the film festival in the City Pages. I've have a profound desire to see Bright Young Things, ever since it first came out.

Good luck with the 'cycle.
