My Dad once said that Wednesday was a shortened version of "Wedding day". I think he was kidding, but it did always remind me how to spell it.

Short report of my day, or, I Like Short Lists:
1. Slacked off at work
2. Went home and played DDR
3. Lasagne is yummy
4. British teevee is some of my favorite teevee

Then I came home and decided to ride the bike around a little, because it wasn't super cold, I wasn't very tired, and I hear there may be snow again this weekend. It was almost 70 degrees yesterday. This is Minnesota.

The practice was short, but really good, and I

1. Bike doesn't like to start very much, but will eventually after you poke it enough.
2. Stopping with the wheel turned even a little is a pretty bad idea. oh yeah, I learned that in MSF class. Which leads to:
3. If you're going to dump a motorcycle, the best way to do it is at a stop or a near-stop, and in a pleasantly (mostly) embarrasment-free empty parking lot.
4. I can pick up my bike by myself pretty damn easily. Very good to know.

It's a relief to have that first dump is overwith, and have it have been such a minor thing.

Time for bed.

It was probably gravelly, too; you can partially blame it on the gravel. Bike's okay, I assume (or, at least, now in any worse condition than it was before)?

They were saying something about snow today*, and then it changed to rain and, well, it was pleasant all day long instead. Meteorologists lie.

Wednesday is from Woden's day, or some other variation on Odin.

I'm impressed you can get your bike up by yourself. I had trouble getting mine up the couple of times I dumped it, usually some dude would come help just as I was getting really frusterated. And my bike is lighter than yours.

Really? I was surprised how easy it was, actually, and I don't think I'm much of a toughie (unless spinning poi has given me strength I take for granted) I had previously read up on the best way to do it (http://pinkribbonrides.com/dropped.html), which was a huge asset. You do it almost all with yer legs this way, though my back was a little grumpy with me the next day. And you have to have traction- I think you told me you dumped once because you were in a slidey patch. That'd make it a *lot* more difficult.
