I realized as my head popped off the pillow that I forgot to bring some stuff home from the office that I was supposed to bring to the conference. damnit. It's probably not a huge deal, but I hate doing anything that smacks of disorganization or incompetence. Bleh.

One of these days, I'll write about something that isn't work-related. Promise.

Really glad it's friday, even though I had a weekendy kind of night with star5 and the new MC rock candy.

Really gotta motor. Dunno how long it takes to get to chanhassen during rush hour, but I guess I get to find out. vrooooom....

I was just thinking. For next weekend your superV is asking you to work unpaid overtime on a weekend. She is actually asking you for three favors: weekend, overtime, & unpaid. I suggest you point this out and then counter by agreeing to do any two of those things (her choice):

Overtime on a weekend, but get paid for it.
Unpaid overtime, but not on a weekend (eg, staying until quarter to 7p).
Work an unpaid weekend, but not overtime (work an eight hour shift on Saturday, but get a paid weekday off as compensation).

I think any of those deals would still be generous of you.

The weekend stuff wouldn't be full days. I think they would rather I take time off during the week to counter it rather than pay me overtime- I don't really care either way so long as I'm not doing it for free. I think what I'll do is use my willingness to come in on a weekend as a bargaining chip to get the days off I need to visit Joe and Beth. :)
