All Saints

Here's the Traditional Monday Morning Litany of my activities this weekend. I hope you find it at least mildly entertaining.
Friday: Element 27.
sxoidmal took a bunch of pictures, as is his wont, and we are smiling like goofballs in a few of them. Good times. Also, lots of people danced a lot. Lots of people dancing makes clubbing more fun.
Saturday: My plan was: Sleep, Sleep, Sleep Until I Could Sleep No More. Unfortunately my body is getting strangely accustomed to my only giving it 6 hours at a time or so at the most lately, so up I was at 9:30 wishing I felt more rested but not being able to sleep any more. Silly bodies, I wish they knew what was good for 'em, sometimes.
s4 and I ran errands for costuming purposes and spent the rest of the day making a big mess. The results were pretty good.
Then we met our dozen comrades downtown for the Brian Regan show, which was great. He performed for 80 minutes and we all only knew one or two jokes. He got a standing ovation from a sold out show of huge fans. I'm really curious if he gets similar responses in other cities or if Minneapolis is some kind of unrealized Brian Regan fandom vortex.
And, on to
vaxjo's party, which was fun and well decorated and well attended with people that were mostly costumed. I stayed there until I needed to go home and go to sleep.
Sunday, I tried the Sleep, Sleep, Sleep Until You Can Sleep No More plan again, and got up at 9:30 again. (sigh) I didn't want to wake anyone else up, so I kept my breakfast cravings contained until almost noonthirty, when we rallied some of the usual suspects for some Seward. Yum.
Then I made a great deal with my Mom, and ended up taking a car home in exchange for leaving my motorcycle in her garage all winter. I'm still not quite sure how I ended up with such a win-win situation, but there it is. So, motorcycle is almost all tucked in for a few months, s4 and I became a 2-car household overnight, which solves innumerable annoyances with both getting ourselves to the polls tomorrow as well as our daily commutes. Fantastic! The final ride down to suburbia was really, really chilly, but it was kind of fun, too. I got stuck in Vikings traffic, which wasn't any fun at all except that there seemed to be someone holding a big Kerry/Edwards sign on every major overpass, and they seemed to get really excited to have someone on a motorcycle wave or beep at them. And my car doesn't have a horn, so it was kind of cute and novel to be able to give little weenie motorcycle horn beepbeeps in support of the DFL. It was made extra fun by having a car with a Bush sticker in front of me almost the entire way.
Then we prepared the VIP room for Halloween festivities. I'd never been to First Ave on Halloween before. I was really impressed with all the effort put into a lot of the costumes.
The spikeys made our appearance and that was fun, too. We stayed probably later than we should have on a school night, but it was fun.
And so begins another week. Gaining consciousness was something of a struggle this morning. I very much look forward to the elections being over and for Omegacon to begin. I'd say it's almost time to relax, but no, it's almost time to help spacebug and s4 move!
The month's notice and the new applications both head out today, so it's almost real. The site manager also just told me that the space is basically as good as ours once we put down our deposit. Woohoo!
One of my favorite quotes from
paraselenic:
There's no rest for the wicked, that must be why I'm so damn tired all the time.
Cheers.
