I'm fairly positive s4 and I gained an upstairs neighbor last night.
At 4 in the morning.
Who moves at 4am?
I tossed and turned to thunk thunkthunkthunk THUNK creak CREAK creak THUNK right above my head for about two hours. The good and bad thing is, I'm pretty sure whoever it was wasn't intentionally being loud, it's just what happens living in a warehouse. I hope our future schedules are a little more copacetic, and I *really* hope whoever they are they have decent taste in music.
I got lost twice in St. Paul last night. Boy, I'm really much more a western-suburban-Minneapolitan girl. At least I have some sense of where I am in downtown and lowertown. It was kind of fun, in a way, I just wish I hadn't been getting tired.
And now-
I hate insurance. The only way you get it is to prove you don't need it. Aren't I done flying my 30 missions yet?
So, Mom and I decided we can't afford this thing out of pocket, so I made a claim. It's her car, so her insurance goes up- sort of, what really happens is that she loses the "accident free discount", to be gained back by incident-free driving over the next three years. Which... well, I don't know. They tell me it's different than the actual rate going up, but it seems like the same thing wearing different socks, you know? We don't actually pay anything since it's not our car that's damaged. The loss of discount over the three years amounts to a little over $200. So, since I paid for the car repair last night, we called it square. Suits me. I likely won't be driving that car for more than another month or two, and my Mom rarely leaves Bloomington, so I think we'll be fine.
I guess an adjuster will be getting back to me, but I'm not exactly sure what for. I'd like to think this is done now so I can get along with better, nicer, non-bureaucratic things.
r4c came over to see the new pad, and made a compelling argument against my want of an echoplex or a repeater, and now I'm super excited to get the studio set up and hook up the PC 1600 to AudioMulch. (Hey,
dangerdhotrod, sorry, I think I want my PC 1600 back this week...)

Date: 2004-11-30 12:56 pm (UTC)I think their favorite past-time is throwing thier furniture at the floor and then stomping back and forth over and over. That and standing on the creaky spots of the floor and bouncing. (which is something I used to do as a kid and drove my mom nuts with.)
4am is a really odd time to move. Maybe they work 2nd shift or something.
