After weeks of silent appreciation of unprompted soy milk in my coffee (well, silent except for my change in the jar), the cutiepie barista and I also exchanged names. Hers is Cole! (Hey, I know one of those!) I didn't ask her if it was short for anything.

Why do I feel so worn out?

I had one of those almost-cry-for-no-good-reason moments last night. I'm not even premenstrual or anything, I'm almost all caught up at work; I'm not sure what my deal is. Maybe a hard yoga session for the first time in a month is bringing things out. Maybe decompression is catching up. Maybe all derby and no music *is* stressing me out that much.

And I do still miss the way life with my friends used to be, though I tend to try not to think about it if I can help it because looking back just makes me sad.

Yeah. I have to make some music. Goddamnit.

S4 and I will have lunch together today. That will be nice. I'd like us to take a weekend trip somewhere sometime. That would be nice, too.

Hey spacebug! hey spacebug! hey spacebug!
i miss you. A misses you. we think that you and s4 and A and I should try to get together for some coffee or dinner or something. I don't know what your schedules are like, but for us, anytime after nine is always good (cuz A's in school now, he's almost always busy til nine) I don't know what S4 has for a work schedule right now, or how early you have to get up, but we would be willing to go to the mall where s4 works to grab a bite if that's easier for you guys, too. Weds? Nine thiry-ish? Anything? I hope that you are feeling better. It sounds like working opposite schedules from s4 could be part of the emotional deal, too (I get that way muyself--it's no fun when you live with your favorite person of all time but really never see them...)
Ah well. love to you. josie says hi, too.

I always find it somewhat uncomfortable when someone meets another girl named Cole. She's never an "eh" person, and I'm kind of possessive of my name, even if it's not my real name. In fact, it's more troublesome than someone named Colleen.

Is that weird?

Not at all; as someone with an unusual name I completely understand. It's a good thing finding another Cali turned out so awesome, otherwise it might have been kinda weird.

See, I've got a hidden competitive streak- I want to be the best Cole. I feel like it would be weird to discover that when someone was talking about "Cole" they were talking about someone else.

So I was thinking this morning about your entrance music quandry, and started thinking about Herbie Hancock's "Rockit". Its a little too mellow probably, but that's not to say that someone couldn't make a more bombastic version. I think that the hook of it could translate pretty well into something more rockin'. So maybe you could combine music and derby.

Are you referring to Omegacon? I'm looking forward to that, but it's hardly just-us-coupletime.

methinks you'll be fine after first bout.

music making is important. i know that in my times of darkness (and by times of darkness i dont mean gothitude) that producing music with my band was one of the main things that kept me going. if you can, see if you can take time back from derby and make it your music time.

other than that, kick some ass on skates!

I know I'm looking forward to seeing you kick some ass at Roller Derby, but I also know what it's like to do something that you love but takes up all or most of your time. It's tough.

I don't have any advice for you other than the advice you've given yourself, but you do have my encouragement and hugs and serious admiration. So...

Take Luck!
