Ion is dead. Needs the main board replaced, to the tune of $400. And then there's shipping. If we count the trip to the shop last year that put me back ~$100, if I get this guy fixed again, I'll have spent more on repairing it than I did on purchasing it.

My local feller here in Carrboro has been stocking 88-key boards that're marketed by Casio, under the name Privia. He says the action is actually made by Yamaha. It feels and sounds pretty good. He's got the display unit set up next to a mid-90's Kurzweil 88-key, and while the action is not quite as nice as the Kurzweil, the sound is actually quite a lot better. They're super-lightweight (for an 88-key), too.
But it might be a good idea to take my opinion with a grain of salt... =%>
