Ion is dead. Needs the main board replaced, to the tune of $400. And then there's shipping. If we count the trip to the shop last year that put me back ~$100, if I get this guy fixed again, I'll have spent more on repairing it than I did on purchasing it.

I haven't totally decided, but I think I might never see my 'board again.

Anyone have opinions on 88-key weighted or semi-weighted controllers?

Controller-wise, I've been pretty happy with my Yamaha S08. The keys have a very solid feel and a good response time. Sound-wise it's a mixed bag, some really nice sounds and some "uh" sounds, but it plays well.

I was also quite pleased with the Fatar Studio 88 controller/battering ram, but after a dozen+ years of general abuse the mod wheel and the carrying handle became nonfunctional, and I opted to replace it with the S08 for the added sounds rather than walk the path of repairs plus labor plus shipping.
